With installation only one week away, the Shed Space model garden scene in complete. By installing four mirrors around the plots, the 18 garden sheds now stretch to infinity (and beyond!).

You – the spectator – are reflected in the mirrors as you look through the shed window. A giant in a small world you soon become lost in an endless sea of sheds. The whimsical sheds attract the eye creating interest and celebrating architectural space-making.

Collaboration is central to how we work at Space Program. For this exhibition, we worked with art and architecture students from Oxford Brookes University, including the Centre for Development and Emergency Practice (CENDEP), to design the whimsical model sheds, and ran a planting workshop with Crisis clients for the green roof. The exhibition concept was developed with Arts at the Old Fire Station.

The exhibition has been great fun to develop and build. We hope that people visiting the exhibition will enjoy exploring the shed designs and the other artworks on display and feel inspired to make something fun in their garden sheds this summer!
